Justine Sacco

Luke Abraham

So about 2 years ago during christmas, there was this one main trend on twitter; Justine Sacco. You may be wondering, who is Justine Sacco? She was a normal person, with a normal job, and a nor,al life. And then one mistake changed everything. While on the plane to South Africa, she
was on twitter, and tweeted random things about her flight/trip, one of which was an extremely racist and untrue comment, as shown here:

After landing, she started to go through her phone, but there was one text message from a friend of her's that stood out. It said that she was the No. 1 twitter trend right now, and the whole world had basically blown up right in her face. She had been fired from her job, lost lots of friends, and also had all of twitter angry at her. So if this could happen to her, a regular person with a normal life, then there should be some way that this can be stopped or at least prevented from happening again.

Impact Mapping and How I Will Go About Doing This Project

Luke Abraham

An Impact Map is basically the planner that you use to show how, where, who, when and why, the people will be impacted. Mine has gone well so far, except for the one circle where there is absolutely  nothing filled in (yet!). As for my project, I am planning to have my research organized and done by
answering questions that relate to my project. And some of which are:
  1. How is freedom of speech today different from freedom of speech on the internet 5 years ago?
  2. How does this affect my age group?
  3. What can I legitimately do about it?
  4. After I do accomplish this project, how would it affect products/software in the future and also rules about devices at GA?
  5. Who will actually care?

Pitch Day

Luke Abraham

I definitely think Pitch Day went great for me, as I have gotten lots
great feedback from teachers and students so far. All of the comments that I have received
back were extremely helpful and informative as to where I should go with this project next, and
they all had really great ideas. I also really liked doing Pitch Day, as they feedback that you receive is immediate, and in this way you don't have to wait long to know what to do or where to go as you move further along in this project. This experience really did help me decide further where to g next with the structure of this project, and I have definitely improved at presenting ideas.

Introduction

This will be my 20% Time history  project. I will be connecting the 1st amendment from the constitution to the internet and what we can post today. Over the next few weeks, I will be posting here and giving updates about what is going on in the project.

That's all for now😄
